PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Mr. Post has extensive manufacturing, engineering product development, and general business executive
experiences in start ups and larger OEM automotive / Tier 1 companies. His 35+ years of experiences cover
the full component systems to powertrains to vehicle spectrum. He currently is Karma Automotive’s Chief
Engineer plug-in hybrid electric luxury cars and VP Detroit Technical center, a startup automotive OEM.


He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Kettering University (Formerly GMI) and Master of Science in
Management from the Sloan School at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with a concentration in
Operations Management and a special certificate in Management Science.


Mr. Post has a broad operations experience: Vehicle Line Director for 10 years at General Motors (GM) responsible
for launching and lifecycle performance for: Saturn Ion, Opel GT, Opel Zafira, 2012 Chevrolet Impala and the
Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky programs, a first for GM implementing a vehicle in half the time. He was
responsible for all cross functional decisions developing and launching vehicles at GM assembly plants and
achieving profit/loss, market share, return on investment and product quality program imperatives.


After GM, he was EVP Product Development and later CEO for ALTe Technologies, Hybrid Electric powertrain
startup (trucks/buses) for U.S. and a JV with a Chinese battery company to address the Asian market.


Delphi fuel system division industrial engineer machining plant and supervisor screw machine operation, a
manufacturing planner at GM HQ. After MIT, he supported assembly plant capacity and facility decisions,
served as Industrial Superintendent at GM’s transmission, where he became a lifelong practitioner of Toyota lean
manufacturing and 6 sigma variation reduction implementing improvement projects in transmissions plants.
Darren was also GM’s Romulus V6 engine Manufacturing Superintendent for engine assembly for truck and
Mercruiser boat engines, and launched 1 new engine product program and GM’s Flint V8 engine plant where
he was responsible 260 per hour production of truck, Corvette, passenger car engines and shipped to 7
assembly plants with 3 new product launches; turning around a poor plant into GM’S top quality, most
productive engine plants with lean manufacturing, variation reduction and team concept/ employee
empowerment in one of the most militant UAW represented plants.


Mr. Post was Plant Manager at Delphi Saginaw Power Steering Pump plant production of 37,000 pumps per
day and over 25 different OEM customers, with annual revenues of over $600 million, 40 customers globally.
Mr. Post has experiences developing future business in his several product planning and corporate strategy
positions. He was a truck product planner early at the Corporate level and later was the Director of Small
Trucks product planning where he gained approval for the Hummer H3 sport utility and the S10 Chevrolet
Crew Cab. He also served as an internal consultant in GM’s Decision Support Center which focused on
disruptive strategic projects. Mr. Post was instrumental in developing the product strategy, market outlook
and business case for Project Beacon which launched the On-Star business.


Mr. Post is known for developing high performance teams by empowering his leaders to achieve previously
unobtainable results by leveraging the talents of everyone in the organization. His start up experiences brings
a lean approach to implementing systems and processes required with minimal or no staff support, while
leveraging his OEM and Tier 1 supplier knowledge.
